We each already know a lot about pain relief. Think distraction, think child gets lollipop from the doctor or dentist, think parent smacks the ground after a child has fallen and exclaims, "bold ground!"

Without any pills or potions - you just got on with whatever you were doing and somehow the pain didn't get in your way.
We each experience pain differently. Whatever you are experiencing there are ways to manage or relieve it. Even if only for a short while.

I have assembled a range of approaches that add to our existing and natural capabilities. These are for those who must manage or relieve pain on a longer term basis, those classified as having chronic pain.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
​I believe that we can use our minds to relieve pain, to enhance our medication or even to influence the course of our treatment plans.
Some are simple visualisations that you can learn easily. Others are more in-depth and require a little practice.
Once learned however, they will offer you a level of respite that I believe will help enormously. ​​
There is a world of resources within each of us
Whether it's Cancer or MS related, whether it's to do with Eczema, Psoriasis, IBS or Crohns, Migraine, Fibromyalgia or M.E., my aim is offer some approaches that will complement your current prescribed medications and treatments.
A significant HealthierSelf goal then, is to help shed some light for folk whose lives are made difficult by these conditions. That light is in the form of approaches and techniques that I believe will give people even just a little more control.
