Pain relief without pills
There is so much more that we can do to help ourselves when in pain. Indeed, we each already know how to do some of this. Think distraction, think child gets lollipop from the doctor or dentist, think parent smacks the ground after a child has fallen and exclaims, "bold ground!"
AT HealthierSelf CIC we have assembled a range of approaches for those who must manage or relieve pain on a longer term basis. Some are simple visualisations that you can learn easily. Others are more in-depth and require a little practice. Once learned however, they will offer you a level of respite that we believe will help you enormously.
The focus is on the structure of how we each experience pain - whatever you are experiencing we can help.
So, yes, we can use our minds to relieve pain, to enhance our medication or even to influence the course of our treatment plans.
